The first flavor, call sign: “Gen 1” was designed as a replacement engine for 1987-95 trucks, vans, and SUVs, then there’s “Gen 1e LD” which covers 1996-2002 light-duty trucks, and “Gen 1e HD” intended for ’96-’02 Heavy-Duty trucks.
